Convert single selection field to multi selection field

Infos:

• Used Zammad version: 5.2
• Used Zammad installation type: Ubuntu Package
• Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04
• Browser + version: Chrome (latest)

I don’t know if this is something that is supposed to be possible or not.

Expected behavior:

• Go to object “format” dropdown and switch object from single selection to multi selection.

Actual behavior:

• Other object types unavailable.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

• Upgraded from 5.0.3 and wanted to use the new multi-select option for certain objects for more detailed data, but don’t want to lose historical data in current single select objects. Want to convert the single select to multi select.

As our documentation points out you cannot convert / change existing object types.
You’ll have to use a new one.

In case anyone is seeing this after the fact. I did actually find that reference in the docs and created the following feature request:

Convert single select objects to multi select

I would like to the ability to convert different types of “select” objects. Particularly single to multi. Much of the user base of Zammad have been using it from 4.x and earlier so we have many objects that would benefit from being multi select but have made due with single select. Now that multiselect is available converting those objects to multi select would be incredibly beneficial. It means that historic data is not lost for that object (which would somewhat be the case in making a new obj…
