Ticket Reply, Replies to recipient not Sender

  • Used Zammad version: 4.1

  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …)

  • Operating system:
    Ubuntu 20.04

  • Browser + version: Chrome

Expected behavior:

When using zammad reply send response to Sender not recipient

Actual behavior:

When an Agent of another Department emails Zammad departments it looks fine


But if i use reply its not going to that sender but back to itself

But Should be back to Veronica the sender

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

this is a fresh install of Zammad so im guess there is some config issue in email set up,

but compared to the old system i have it the same, old system works new system as above ?

Update, this only happens when the ticket is created, once a return email is done then all replies work as they should but not from the original first post

going back to 2018 i noticed i had this issue last time i set up Zammad,

and found the fix from @MrGeneration

In the email settings under one of the email accounts i needed the the Hostname@myDomain in there as an alias,

so is now working
