How to reimport read IMAP e-mails

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 2.3.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: package
  • Operating system: Debian 9.3
  • Browser + version: Chrome

We have installed Zammad on a VPS, imported all the IMAP e-mails and “Keep messages on server” was “Yes”. Because of some hosting problems we lost the VPS and had to reinstall Zammad on another server. As expected Zammad only downloads the new emails because the old ones are marked as “read”.

Is there a way to make Zammad import all the read e-mails? I’ve checked the e-mail server and the read e-mails are there.

Thanks.

Hi @bogozaur - go to your server and mark all emails as unread. Zammad will then fetch them and mark them as read again. It’s like a fresh start :sunflower:

Thanks @thorsteneckel . Meanwhile before reading this, I’ve made more research and found how the mail server marks the e-mail as read. So I made a script and removed the “S” from almost one million e-mails :sunny:
After this, Zammad started downloading all the old e-mails.
