Stop allowing non customers to raise tickets via email

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.5.2
  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) Docker Compose
  • Operating system: Ubuntu Server 24.04.3
  • Browser + version: Edge Version 143.0.3650.80

Expected behavior:

  • Disable creating a ticket via email if there isnt a customer or only allow emaling back and forth if its on a valid ticket flow.

Actual behavior:

  • Anyone including spam bots appear to be able to email out helpdesk email and raise ticket and create users which is very annoying.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Any email to the helpdesk inbox will do this.

You can‘t adjust this behavior. It‘s a core functionality and intended that way. We had similar discussions within the last two weeks already too.

Understood, if its something that keeps being brought clearly there is demand so could raise a feature request?

Administrators prohibit this behavior by dismissing mail on the mail server before it ever reaches Zammad.

Nobody stops you to create a feature request on this board in the fitting category, if there is no such request yet.
