[solved] SMTP not working

  • Used Zammad version: 2.9.0-18
  • Used Zammad installation source: (source, package, …) docker
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04
  • Browser + version: Chrome (latest)

Expected behavior:

  • I could add smtp for incomming Tickets properly (IMAP and SMTP), the same account is used for Outgoing Emails from Ticketsystem.

Actual behavior:

  • Setup of “E-Mail Benachrichtigung” doesnt work: 550-Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

That’s an SMTP error message; it originates from your mail server. At this point, Zammad is probably trying to send a test mail (not sure where to - either to emailtrytest@znuny.com to test outgoing SMTP in general, or to the helpdesk2@… address you’ve configured under “E-Mail-Adresse” to ensure that your Zammad is reachable), and the SMTP server rejects it.

sadly the Mail is hosted by 1&1 (ionos) i dont know why they should reject the test email.

Arrrrghh!! The only error was the sending Emailadress wich is configured here:

After changing it to a valid sender, i add the SMTP Server, but while the first Setup, it will fail with no posibillity to change that value.
