PGP signed & encrypted problem

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.2
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: ubuntu 22

Expected behavior:

  • Incoming email using pgp will be decrypted if encrypted & signed

Actual behavior:

  • If incoming email is encrypted & signed the email will be displayed in a not readable layout and attachments are only displayed as base64 code. If the email is just encrypted but not signed the email is readable and attachment is downloadable.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Enable PGP Integration, send yourself a pgp encrypted+signed email and just a pgp encrypted message. (with attachments)

You may want to decide if you’re reporting a bug or seeking help in the community.
Posting on several platforms does not speed up responses towards you but potentially wastes peoples time that could be used in e.g. fixing issues.

Sorry, after you mentioned that I did not use the correct template, I decided to search for help in the community first to make sure it’s a bug and to not waste the developers’ time if it’s just a mistake by me.

Hi @noezdev. Just out of curiosity: What app are you using to write PGP mails?

To reproduce this behavior, I use GPG4Win on Windows. When I send an email encrypted to Zammad, the email along with attachments is displayed correctly; similarly, when I only sign it, it displays correctly as well. However, when the combination of signing and encrypting is used by the sender, the email becomes partially unreadable (umlauts, etc.), and the attachments are only shown cryptically as text within the email. I am currently informing senders about the workaround and hope that I am not the only one experiencing this issue. However, I currently lack the time to provide a proper reproduction guide, logs, etc., for GitHub. I will try to accomplish this in a timely manner.
