Option to set up multiple email domains per organization

Currently, Zammad allows only one email domain to be configured for an organization.
This is insufficient for organizations that use multiple domains, for example:

Organization:** HEL
Domains:** hel.de, hel.com, hel-group.com

All of these domains belong to the same organization and should therefore result in the same automatic organization assignment.

Current workaround

At the moment, this can be implemented using triggers:

IF sender email ends with hel.de OR hel.com OR hel-group.com
THEN organization = HEL

This works, but requires additional trigger configuration and ongoing maintenance, especially when many organizations use multiple email domains.

Proposed feature

Allow multiple email domains to be configured directly in the organization settings.

For example:
Organization: HEL
user@hel.de
user@hel.com
user@hel-group.com

is automatically assigned to organization hel.

An incoming email from any of these domains should then automatically be assigned to the HEL organization.
No additional trigger should be required for this basic use case.

Benefits

  • Native support for multiple email domains per organization
  • Less dependency on triggers for organization assignment
  • Reduced administrative and configuration overhead
  • More flexible and transparent automatic organization assignment
  • Better support for companies operating multiple domains or subsidiaries under a single organization

Yes, exactly! I have many clients who manage multiple domains, and because of this limitation, I currently avoid using the Domain Assignment feature altogether.

Having better support for multi-domain clients would make a huge difference in my workflow.

Technically a duplicate of Organisations with multiple domains

I will favor this one, because it has a proper description. Use the search function next time though, please.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I’m glad to hear it’s helpful.

I actually had used the search function beforehand, but couldn’t find any similar entries on the topic. For whatever reason.
