New Email Ticket [solved]

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 3.1.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: Package
  • Operating system: CentOS 7
  • Browser + version: FireFox, Chrome, Brave (all recent)

Hey folks,

this is not really a technical issue but more of a usability blocker as-is. If an agent/ admin creates a new ticket (email) It is required to use a customer or create a new one. This is way too much overhead, even given the fact that most people are not customers at all.

We do have a script that imports our customers into Zammad on a regular basis.

We need a way to send a ticket to an Email address without going through all the “new customer” issue.

On a different matter: Is is possible to pre-select a template for new tickets? As is we have to create a new ticket, click on templates, select a template, apply a template. Then customer, create customer…

We just want to “+”, “new Email Ticket”, “To: x@example.com”, done.

Any clues how we can achieve this?
The rest of Zammad fits our need perfectly; it really is just the cumbersome “new ticket” system.

Cheers!

This should just work? Just type an email address into the field and completely ignore the list with the “Create customer” entry that pops up. Change the focus to the text field, type your text and create the ticket.

I can confirm. Just type the email address and ignore the “create contact”.

Wow.

So it does. Marvelous!
Sometimes the solutions are so simple you overlook them.

Thanks!
