M365: "User authenticated but not connected"

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 5.2.3
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: AlmaLinux 8.6
  • Browser + version: Firefox 1060.1

Expected behavior:

  • Account added to M365 Channel configuration

Actual behavior:

  • After specifying folder and leave on server settings, authentication returns, “User authenticated but not connected.” Azure reports the authentication was completed successfully. Have configured 3rd party app registration for authentication and M365 channel app registration.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • In Channels > Microsoft 365 > Add Account > specify registered account & password in sign-in for my tenant > Approve MFA request. Leave Folder blank, set Keep messages on server to yes, click Submit. Channel animation runs briefly. Error message is displayed behind.

Solved:

  1. IMAP is not enabled by default in our tenant

AND

  1. Add “proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Ssl; on” to “location /” section of /etc/nginx/conf.d/zammad.conf similar to Error 422: The change you wanted was rejected. [Office 365] - #6 by FunkStar
