Low disk space (self hosted)

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 5.0.2
  • Used Zammad installation type: Package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 LTS
  • Browser + version: MS Edge 97.0.1072.76

Current Problem :

The zammad server runs on an ESXi with enough free space.
I want to expand the current storage for Zammad.

  • Storage November 2021:
    Size: 15GB
    Used: 7,9GB
    Avail: 6,1GB
    Use%: 57%

  • Storage January 2022:
    Size: 15GB
    Used: 13GB
    Avail: 1,9GB
    Use%: 87%

How to proceed here?

Thank you all in advance

search for

“esxi expand volume linux guest ubuntu”

this is not zammad specific

I would recommend adding a new virtual disk on this VM and migrating Zammad data to it.

See:

You can also expand the current virtual disk, but this could be hard to do if you are not a Linux expert.

This should answer all your questions:

this is the 2nd step

1st you need to increase the disk size in esxi (shutdown guest, edit size, reboot)
