Login via Mail and username with LDAP integration?

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 5.2.x
  • Used Zammad installation type: source
  • Operating system: Centos 7
  • Browser + version: Edge

Expected behavior:

  • Our LDAP synchronized users want to login via mail because on the login screen it says “login via username or mail”

Actual behavior:

  • Login is only possible via username

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • LDAP → try to login via mail

Is it in any way possible to login via mail AND username? I synch the mail address of the users already. But they can only login via username. Because of the login screen which says username / mail there are a lot of telephone calls because the users are entering their mails instead of their username.

I have the same request, using Zammad 5.4. Thanks in advance if somebody knows how to achieve it.

As a workaround, I’m interested to know how to remove “Email” from the login form description (keeping only “Username”) ?

Works for me at 5.4. I have LDAP synced with our local AD and i can login with username or with e-mail.

Maybe, the e-mail is already in use at another user?

You are right, it works perfectly… if the email is properly defined in LDAP! I missed it was not the case for us.
