How to use Variables in Ticket-Templates?

  • Operating system: 20.04.6 LTS
  • Browser + version: latest chrome

Question:

Is it possible to use Variables (from the zammad documentaion)
with Ticket Templates?

For example we will automatically fill the field “owner” with the current User by using #{user.updated_by.login} but after saving the template the field stays emty.
Also tried with “::” without success.

if variables aren’t working in this section, the function “templates” are not very help/usefull.

As per documentation (Templates — Zammad Admin Documentation documentation) variables are not available within templates.

That’s indeed a bummer.
