How to modify webserver hostheader

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.5.0-1744879538.cc77c631.noble
  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu
  • Browser + version: Chrome

Expected behavior:

  • looking to add new host header. We have just launched a new instance (1st time using Zammad) and the default URL for http access is the server IP. Looking to move to a friendly dns entry e.g. helpdesk.company.org

Actual behavior:

  • Can’t see a setting to change. We’ve found the branding item for email body wording but it does not change what you can connect to

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • n/a not working

So I originally had this thread as “How to modify webserver hostheader” but turns out that is not where the issue is. We are launching with Zammad and looking to go with HTTP (certs will be done once we’ve removed ourselves from the current vendors contractual dates). Since creating the post I’ve found out it’s nothing to do with HTTP headers but Chrome & Edge. Firefox views fine and incognito Chrome. Despite me typing http://helpdesk.my.org:80 Chrome and Edge start a connection on HTTPS. Got a workaround for now but if anyone could share “allow HTTP on LAN” for Chrome that would be great.
