Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 3.3.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: npm
  • Operating system: Ubuntu
  • Browser + version: Chrome 53

Expected behavior:

To be able to register an inbound email

Actual behavior:

Returns Error: Authentication failed, invalid credentials!

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

App has been setup in google account (allowing zammad), suspicious activity warning from google is OK, has been granted.
Try to add a gsuite user that has the App Password setup OK in google
Type IMAP
Host. imap.gmail.com
User: xxxxx@galeriaimpresionarte.com
Password: (The App generated password)
SSL Yes
Port 993

Return error: Authentication failed, invalid credentials!

Not sure what step I´m missing here.

Please provide the exact error message that google provides.
Ensure that the app password and username is correct (double check for spaces as example).

As far as I’m aware app passwords are a possible workaround at this moment.
You could also simply update your Zammad to 3.4 and use the google channel…:
