Google Syntax error when setting up smtp.gmail.com

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.1.0-1695991644.253245f3.jammy
  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) Package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu Server
  • Browser + version: Chrome Version 117.0.5938.132

Expected behavior:

I cannot correctly set up the outgoing email due to a returned syntax error.

Actual behavior:

Returns the following error: 555 5.5.2 Syntax error. y21-20020a056638015500b0042b48d372aasm5340040jao.100 - gsmtp

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

I have tried multiple times to set up the initial email account. I created an app specific password and it looks like the login credentials are working correctly, but there is a syntax error that prevents correct setup.

please search through your production.log if the error is logged.
It most likely is connected to a faulty mail address google doesn’t like.
