Just curious if there is a way to always show the desktop view regardless of device type or browser type. I.E. mobile devices are presented with the desktop version first everytime. I don’t mind completely removing the mobile version either. thanks.
Used Zammad version: 6.5.0-1745936513.3cf99e05.noble
Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) Package
Operating system: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Browser + version: Chrome 135.0.7049.115
Expected behavior:
Desktop view opens for every browser and device regardless of type.
You cannot disable nor remove the mobile view. For small devices you have zero benefit from the legacy web app in my opinion. It’s too much.
If you’re missing more or less important things on the mobile view, imho a feature request on this board would be the better approach. I mean yes, workarounding is a thing, but doesn’t improve the situation.
I’m curious: Why do you want it to default to the desktop view on mobile devices? Judging from @MrGeneration’s response, it does not seem like he thinks having that capability is useful due to how much is in the desktop UI and how small mobile screens are in comparison. I would tend to agree with him, but if there’s a specific purpose for which it would be better for your org’s needs for all mobile devices to default to the desktop view over the mobile one, I’m curious as to what it is.
Since this is the first result on Google when searching for “Zammad disable mobile interface,” I thought it might benefit from having a link to how one can switch back and forth without any janky hacks.
Well, I guess it depends on how you understand “Disable Mobile Site.” Once you turn off mobile view on a device, it will continue to go to the desktop version of the site going forward on the device. That seems pretty on topic to me.
