Dark mode and paste text

  • Used Zammad version: 6.4
  • Operating system: WIn
  • Browser + version: Chrome

We have encountered a small issue with Zammad: when consultants copy-paste text using the regular Ctrl + V, the text sometimes appears gray. The proper solution is to use Ctrl + Shift + V, which ensures the text is pasted correctly. You’re probably aware of this, but of course, it can sometimes be forgotten.

Another issue arises when users have dark mode enabled. In this case, they might not even notice that the text appears gray. Its visible in white mode only.
My question is: is there a way to disable dark mode for all users in Zammad?
Or maybe Zammad is known about this issue and soon will be released bugfix?

Yeah it’s probably a good idea to discard colour information on paste by default, and maybe instead provide a special paste option that keeps the colour information, such as when pasting highlighed code or something of that nature.

With that said, I’m not able to reproduce the described problem in Zammad 6.5 on Chrome when pasting text copied from another web page.
