Customer role ticket submission all groups invisible

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.2.0
  • Used Zammad installation type: Ubuntu Package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04.3
  • Browser + version: Chrome/Edge

Expected behavior:

  • When a user with customer role goes to create a ticket they should see all of the groups available in the drop down.

Actual behavior:

  • The dropdown is there with empty selections and they cannot select anything other than “-”

I have checked the following in (Channels>Web>Group Selection) tried selecting all groups / some groups. Still does not show any groups for the customer role.

I have also ran the following
zammad run rails r “Setting.set(‘customer_ticket_create_group_ids’, )”

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Login and view as any user that only has the customer role and I can only see a drop down blanked out.

Hi @reedk. Please provide some steps to reproduce the behavior, in my Zammad instance it’s working as expected.

I really don’t know how to reproduce it, my Zammad instance encountered this issue just the other day. I haven’t found a way to fix it yet and to my knowledge nothing has changed on the system to cause this issue.

I’m just looking for advice on maybe things to try and restore the groups dropdown for the customer role.

I’m new to this forum, trying to paste a picture of this and it’s not allowing me to upload a screenshot. If this is the wrong category for this please let me know.

Please try to upload a picture of it now, I changed your permission to do so (hopefully). If it’s still not working, please send me a private message.

Screenshots of your configuration might be helpful to offer you some help.

Good evening, I think I got his same problem. After an update I did today (just a normal apt update / apt upgrade) when a customer try to open a ticket with the web page it has problem selecting a ticket group. Unfortunately I’m not able to post a screenshot. If you give me a way to do it I would be more than happy to give it to you
Like him i tried to run "zammad run rails r “Setting.set(‘customer_ticket_create_group_ids’, )” after seeing a github thread but it didn’t solve the question.
My zammad version is: 6.2.0-1702303938.81e0c1fd.jammy

Hi @akaheidy. Please try to upload some screenshots now. If it’s still not working, please send me a private message.

Here you go, this is the screenshot.
As you can see it does display how many groups I have but it doesn’t show the names and it also doesnt let you choose.
I tried also clearing cache browser and the cache of zammad with the console but I didn’t change anything

We have the same problem in our installation too.

I cannot tell if it has been there before the upgrade to zammad 6.2 last friday, as we had the group selection hidden via core-workflow in our customer web form till yesterday.

Logged in as agent or administrator all groups are visible and selectable.

It doesn’t matter which browser we use (Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, Edge, Vivaldi) and if I delete cookies and browser cache.

Shouldn’t we open a issue in github for this problem (haven’t had a look today if one already exists) ?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, that we filtered the groups for ticket creation, but the removal of this filter doesn’t matter (Channels => Web => Group selection for Ticket creation). Customers cannot see the group names in the dropdown menu.

Best regards and thanks in advance
Peter

Hi @plrlp-pmueller. If you can reproduce it in a fresh Zammad installation, feel free to create an issue in GitHub.

Just to be clear I did a fresh new installation and yesterday after updating it the problem appeared :frowning:
Do you have any clue of i can solve it?

@akaheidy has been faster :wink:
I’ve added my steps to reproduce the behaviour in our system to the github issue #4981

Hey @akaheidy, @plrlp-pmueller, thanks. Hopefully, I will have time to check this report in more detail soon.

Good morning @fliebe92,
Have you had a chance to verify the report in more detail?

Thank you,
Best regards

Good morning, today I did a sudo update && upgrade and i saw that zammad downloaded a new version the 6.2.0-1702975436.87754a02.jammy. Unfortunately this didn’t solve the issue :frowning:

JFI.
Issue 4981 has just been fixed.

Please allow package and container builds to finish which should happen within the next 120 minutes. This should solve the issue.

Just updated, now it works perfectly!
Thank you!

Sorry for my late reply.

I’ve installed the updated package too and the problem has been solved in our installation too.

From our side the post can be marked as solved.

Thanks !!
