Bug or feature - active group without email configured results into NO mails received for all groups

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 6.2.0
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: debian
  • Browser + version: current chrome

Created a group without creating an email / email channel and actives this group.

Expected behavior:

Working as before, but only receiving no emails in new active group, because no email channel is configured…

Actual behavior:

No one of the active group receives emails! Emails will be fetched in M365 account but not shown in any Zammad groups!
After deactivating the group w/o configured email, all groups receiving emails immediately.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Created a group without creating an email / email channel and actives this group.

Any ideas? Is it a bug? Are the received / fetched mails still anywhere in Zammad available? Is this error handling as designed? An advice / warning would be helpful…

A group does not require an email address. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to have a group without email address.

In fact I have this regulary in my test environments and it’s working just fine.
I just double tapped that on a current 6.3 instance and cannot reproduce it.

If there’s an issue, it’s most likely a local one.
