Allow tickets with empty subject

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 5.3.0
  • Used Zammad installation type: docker-compose
  • Operating system: Fedora 36
  • Browser + version: 106.0.1

Expected behavior:

  • tickets can be created with an empty text body

Actual behavior:

  • empty body prevents ticket to be created

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • as a customer try to create a new ticket via Zammad web interface

Why would you want that? I don’t believe it is possible.

It indeed isn’t:

Users not being able to write a short subject / title or even use subjects as their error description are the pest - that’s my opinion sorry.

The way I see things so far is that most products that can be requested will be selectable from a single select tree field. Also a count will be set.

So in most common use cases the body will be useless and people will not know what to write there.

Then give them an web form that utilizes Zammads API to solve the issue.
That’s imho the cleanest way you can provide to your users if your users have this kind of issue.

I would like it to work in same server. Not have a separate web page to mask system behavior. I’d rather file a RFE and see if system survives the PoC phase. But thank you for confirming that it is not possible ATM.
