550 5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

  • Used Zammad version: 4.1.0
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: Debian 10
  • Browser + version: Firefox 92.0.1

Expected behavior:

  • Sending Zammad notifications from Exchange Server 2016 (on premises) account

Actual behavior:

Authentication is successful with following configuration of outgoing SMTP
Address: myexch.com
User: mylocaldomain\username
password: username’s password
Port: 587

but I’m getting an error:

  • 550 5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • I’ve tried everything I was able to find on forums without success.

I’ve solved this.

The issue was that Zammad adds FQDN to email address so it was trying to use
username@FQDN(of zammad server) instead of username@mydomain.com

And this is why Exchange was returning 550 5.7.60

can you help me to solve this problem. I am getting this error. And don’t know how to solve it?

I’m not sure what do you mean? Can you be more specific?

I have configured to send Mail. But got the warning line. And I don’t know what to do to fix it. Can you show me how to fix this?

When I use gmail’s SMTP there is no error. !

Then your mail server doesn’t seem to like you trying to use a domain it’s either not responsible for or your user may not use.

This page may help you:
https://admin-docs.zammad.org/en/latest/channels/email/settings.html

Notification sender is relevant for your notification channel.

Try to change FQDN to bkav.vn and see what happens if it will work than you need to make some changes on your smtp server to allow connections from this client
