Zammad 3.1 is there

Dear community,

we’re thrilled to announce the release of Zammad 3.1!
So… whats new?

Regiohelden GmbH sponsored a new approach of the CTI Caller-Log.
This will make your workflow even smoother, Zammad will now automatically open a new inbound-call tab which allows you to type instantly!

Also, we’re introducing group based text modules. Amazing isn’t it?
You can now ship specific text modules to different groups without having the big overload of every text module that most of the agents might not need.

But what… that’s not all!
So many of you have been waiting for this: Zammad 3.1 finally supports Elasticsearch 6.x and 7.x!
Yay!

Another important remark

The following especially hits users from source code installations:
Please note that we’re changing our ruby requirenment from 2.4.4 to 2.5.5!

Package users don’t have to act, the update will do that job for you.

Another remark for docker users:
The docker container creation currently fails, shipping of Zammad 3.1 for docker thus will delay slightly, sorry about that!7

Important note for package users

Logging in Zammad changes. We’re currently having the issue that package installations will by default always log to STDOUT which was not our goal. See https://github.com/zammad/zammad/issues/2660 for “how to solve” this.
This has been addressed by now and should be available within package repository:
https://github.com/zammad/zammad/commit/7db565d7ea24d95e2d90f1a198a49ceac7b2a200

The above information is from 12th July 2019, 4pm UTC.
