Sending outage notifications without using BCC

Hello everyone,

I’d like to ask around how you all handle e-mails to all customers/coworkers when there is a planned maintenance or sudden outage.

Right now, without Zammad, I send an e-mail from our ticketing system to the ticketing system, with all recipients in BCC. This lets everyone know about the maintenance, creates a ticket and every reply to that ticket (even when people use reply-all) creates an article.

Now, changing to Zammad, I wanted to reproduce that workflow and maybe streamline it a little bit using a ticket template but I noticed that you can’t use BCC, and from what I’ve read there’s no intent to add that as a feature.

How do you guys handle such a case?

Hi, to inform people about maintenance in Zammad, i add a message to the login screen in the maintenance settings according to the documentation here and then I send an internal notification to the logged in users

Oh, I was talking about informing people regarding other server maintenances not Zammad itself. Just that I would like to notify via Zammad so everything is documented with a ticket.

A status page would be the way to go. Optionallay with subscription options, if you send tickets, users can‘t bail out if they don’t care.
