# What SMTP auth is using by Zammad? Basic or OAUTH?

Hi All,
I’m asking because it appears that Microsoft 365 will phase out basic authentication in September 2025.
Does anyone have information on this?

Hello,
for `email channels` you can already set up an `OAuth app` according to these instrutcions:

Then you can set up a `M$ 365 Mail account` in Zammad

For the notification system you might need to add a ❤ to this feature request as it does not support other auth methods as of now:
