Spam & Notification Mails

Infos:

Hi, we have a problem that I would imagine other people run into as well: A while ago we received a spam mail on our support mail address that wasn’t filtered out. This in turn was made into a ticket by Zammad. The mail address itself the ticket was created from is not existing but there is a server for that domain.

When I now try to close the ticket, a notification is sent out by Zammad to the mail address that was present in the spam mail. Our mail server then tries to deliver that mail which is not possible and it bounces back to Zammad, which in turn creates a new ticket (since its just a notification that the notification cant be delivered).

Is there a good way to resolve this? Like is it somehow possible to close a ticket without sending any notification or message whatsoever?

Thanks!

Maybe, when you close your spam ticket, also add “spam” as tag and use this tag as condition for the ticket status change notification to exclude tickets with spam tag.

Btw. there is a default macro “close and spam”, which can be used here.

Thanks a lot for that tip

Not sure though how this applies to Mail notifications? There is only this regex I know of? How would you set it up to react to a tag?

You have a trigger that causing notifications for closing tickets, right?

Here an example to exclude tickets with a specific tag:

oh yeah of course … sorry i really didn’t think of the triggers anymore and thought it was a builtin feature … nevermind!

thanks again
