Sending password e-mails to existing customers

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 5.2.1
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 20.04
  • Browser + version: Chrome 98

Hey folks,

hopefully I can get some help here. I don’t quite understand how you should get existing customers to login into Zammad. I know you could send invite e-mails to new customers via the “To-Do” tab where the customer would get an e-mail. Is there anyway that I could send that e-mail to an existing customer, so that they can choose their own password and login to my Zammad instance without me needing to set a password and sending him the password via e-mail manually?

I hope my issue is understandable

thanks in advance!

Hi, the user is created automatically when he sends an email to your Zammad.
But the users are not provided the credentials.

The easiest way would be to enable the forgot password function in Zammad.

Since you can’t send out a password reset email, you can advise the customer to use the forgot password function.
