Picture that has an URL is missing from email (ticket)

  • Used Zammad version: This is Helpdesk version 3.1.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: source
  • Operating system: deb
  • Browser + version: all

Issue:
We’ve received an email with two pictures. These pictures can be clicked to open a specific URL.

Expected behavior:

Images and/or (at least) the URL should be present.
*

Actual behavior:

Picture and URL is missing from the email.
*

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open eg Outlook.
  2. Insert a picture into the mail body.
  3. Right click “add URL”.
4.Give it a URL and send your test email to Zammad.
  4. See nothing

I could not find a solution to this. :frowning:

This is a core functionality of Zammads html sanitizer.
We do this to keep you safe.

This is what your mail client does as well, except we don’t allow you to tell Zammad to display the images any way. Currently there’s no option to change this at all.

What you can do is to view the HTML file (or get the raw content) if needed.
This will also load linked images.
