Office365 Can't use Channel:Driver.Smtp: Net.SMTPAuthenticationError: Net.SMTPAuthenticationError>

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: Zammad version 6.1.0-alpha-1693256382.099329c5.jammy
  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) Package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 22.04LTS
  • Browser + version: Chrome, Edge, Firefox all the different versions

Expected behavior:

  • When we update a ticket on Zammad, it should send out the message to the customer

Actual behavior:

  • The messages are not sending out, instead, we received only the following message: Can’t use Channel:Driver.Smtp: Net.SMTPAuthenticationError: Net.SMTPAuthenticationError>

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Click Reply in a ticket, click Update, the error pops up

When users send emails to this address, a new ticket is created and the customer received the auto-reply email telling them a ticket has been created for follow-up

We are using Microsoft 365 and seems all the permissions have been granted via Azure AD, including the SMTP access.

Hi @eavenhuang. Please check the logs for some more insights + post it here.

Dear expert,

Would you advise what logs I should collect for troubleshooting?

Did you see this?

Thanks a lot my expert! The authenticated SMTP did the trick, I didn’t realise that it was disabled by default in our Office 365.
