New Install Testing

Hi

Not sure if theis is the correct place for this?
New to Zammad, like it a lot.
Just done a test install of V4.

We are currently using Zendesk, if I reset the install and do an import from Zendesk,
is my then Zendesk redundant?

Can I do a Zendesk import for testing perpose only?

We have the following in Zendesk, what would be a decent server spec for the following:
ZENDESK
5 Admins
5 Agents
1604 Users
175 Organisations
10400 Tickets

  • Used Zammad version: 4.0
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: CentOS 7
  • Browser + version: Chrome 90.0

Many thanks in advance.
Apologizes if this is in the incorrect section.

Hi

Update on this have found the system spec and how much space we are using in Zendesk.

Have another question.
The ticket status are different in the 2 systems, can anyone tell me the what the status are after import?

Hi

Sorry anyone got any ideas on the Zendesk import
and the ticket status?
Can not proceed with my tests at present.

Not sure how to understand that question but Zammad does import the following:

  • Users (Agents, Admins, Customers)
  • Organizations
  • Tickets
  • Groups / Queues

Everything extra is being ignored.

I believe that Zammad creates these states if needed but couldn’t find the correct code part. Possibly @mantas might be able to help us here.

Apart from that, Zammad does have a state mapping for some Zendesk default states:

Hi

Many thanks, just what I was looking for.

Hi

Sorry one more question,
If I do an import from our Zendesk to Zammand, can I continue to use our Zendesk install?
Will I need to do another import when I stop using Zendesk?

Yes technically you can continue your usual productive work during a Zendesk migration if it’s for a test only.

I’m afraid the OTRS import is currently the only migrator that allows you to run differential imports - that’s because of the addon we’re using. This is not possible for other plattforms.

This means you’ll need a temporary cut within your support.
The test migration should give you a good idea on how long the migration should take.

Not ideal I’m afraid.

Many thanks for your help.
