Expected behavior:

Hey everyone,

We’re running Zammad with one M365 tenant (company XY) connected via IMAP. A second company (XX) is joining us and we’d like to add their M365 tenant to the same instance.

A few things we’re trying to figure out:

  • Can we add a second M365 IMAP account from a completely different tenant? (Besides the multiple tentans in azure app registration)
  • Any way to make outgoing mail look like it’s coming from each company’s own address?

Has anyone done something similar? Would love to hear how you set it up. Thanks!

Yes, with an independend email account and a seperate group.

No. You can add one Microsoft app per Microsoft 365 channel type. Your app needs to allow several tenants. You can allow specific tennants and don‘t have to allow all of them. (Even though it doesn‘t make much of a difference in that scope)

For the global notifications that are being sent out to customers, that can only be 1 email?

Zammad supports one notification channel only, yes. This also shows in the fact that you can only set one from address in that regard.

Shouldn’t be any problem towards normal customers though, because they virtually never (or very rarely) receive emails from that account.

You might want to check this documentation page in case you don’t completely understand the words I chose above.
