Migration wizard stucked

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 4.1.x
  • Used Zammad installation type: package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 20.04
  • Browser + version: Any

Expected behavior:

  • Be available to come back and retry migration

Actual behavior:

  • When you receive an error in the migration wizard, you get stucked in the migration screen and you cannot go back to change your import data or retry import or do anything like config new instance instead of migrating. How can I reset the installation to come back?

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

    1. Install a new zammad. Choose import from Freshdesk. Provide freshdesk account and API key. Start migration. If there is any error during the import, you can do nothing… no back button. if you reload home page you go again to the import error page… so your new zammad server is a beautiful paperweight xD

Well what field type is custom_file

Is that an attachment?
If so, this is a field that cannot be migrated by Zammad.

The easiest workaround would be to remove said field - however, this probably means data loss on your end.

The problem I wanted to share is not the cause of the migration error in this concrete case, the problem is the fact you can’t go back and retry the migration. Once the migration fails for whatever the reason, then you cannot do anything. your system is blocked forever.

So you’re saying reset your installation does not work?
