Ldap username mapping to existing usernames

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 3.3.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: (source, package, …) deb
  • Operating system: ubuntu
  • Browser + version: chrome latest

hi together,

at the moment, we are using Google as Authenticator.
Every time a new user logs in, Zammad creates a new username with a random numeric value.
so far so good.

Now, I am thinking about activating LDAP-Sync to synchronize Role-Permissions with our AD.

Question: As the usernames in ad is different to the usernames in zammad, but the mail-addresses are the same, will zammad recognize those exisiting users and just map them to the corresponding ldap-entries?

Zammad should recognize your existing user by it’s mail address and start to map it accordingly.
