Expected behavior:
-
When sending outbound emails to customers through Microsoft 365 Graph Email, inline images should be displayed correctly and completely in the recipient’s email client.
-
The rendering result should be consistent across different Outlook clients, including classic Outlook desktop, new Outlook, Outlook on the web, and mobile clients.
-
If there are known limitations or compatibility differences with classic Outlook desktop, it would be helpful to clarify whether this behavior is expected by design or should be considered an issue.
Actual behavior:
-
When an outbound email is sent through the platform via Microsoft 365 Graph Email, recipients using classic Outlook desktop receive the email with images partially cut off or only half displayed.
-
The same email appears correctly when viewed in the new Outlook, Outlook on the web, or on mobile devices.
-
This causes inconsistent email rendering for customers depending on the Outlook client they use.
-
We would like to confirm whether this is a bug, a known compatibility limitation, or expected behavior due to the way classic Outlook desktop renders HTML emails.
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
-
Configure Microsoft 365 Graph Email as the outbound email channel.
-
Send an outbound email containing inline images to a customer.
-
Open the received email in classic Outlook desktop.
-
Observe that the image is partially cut off and not displayed completely.
-
Open the same email in the new Outlook, Outlook on the web, or on a mobile device.
-
Observe that the image is displayed correctly in those clients.
