When importing customers, the ID can only be specified for existing customers. For new customers, this autoincrement field must be left blank.
Our customers already have a client number in the leading system, which we would of course like to use as an ID, as otherwise the leading system would also have to store the customer’s ID in zammad in order to update the data.
That sounds like a bad idea to be honest.
Wouldn‘t it be better to track the customer number in a custom object of the Zammad user? This way you won‘t have colliding user ids.
Right in your environment maybe, but that doesn‘t have to be the case for everyone. You‘re requesting a core functionality her eso it has to apply for a certain user base. No?
Also what if Zammad reaches user 10000 internally and begins to enter ‚your number domain‘?
Currently, there are two checkboxes in the import function that are disabled (for whatever reason).
This is where I would place this functionality.
Basically, I assume that anyone with admin rights knows what they are doing.
If there were conflicts with the IDs, existing data records would be updated anyway. But that is the responsibility of the importing admin…
