Don't mark letters in Zammad when you open them

Infos:

  • Used Zammad version: 4.1
  • Used Zammad installation type: (source, package, docker-compose, …) source
  • Operating system: Centos 7

Expected behavior:

Don’t mark an email as read when opened. I need this option because people additionally look through mail in Outlook, and because Zammad marks them read in Zammad, Outlook needs to look through emails.

Actual behavior:

an email that you open in Zammad is marked as read

We strongly encourage users to not read in Zammads mailboxes.
If you keep messages on the server, Zammad looks for unread mails only and then marks them as read.

This is by design and cannot be changed.
Make a full switch or have a second mailbox that holds copies for your end users.
Even through I don’t see the use case for that.
