# Deleting a Group

is it possible that groups can be deleted in future releases?

Hey Alexandra,

I don’t think so. For context, see this thread: [Issue deleting Groups & Roles](https://community.zammad.org/t/issue-deleting-groups-roles/19671).

While there are ways to remove them manually, I wouldn’t risk it unless you really know what you’re doing.

I know that there is already a way to delete groups, but not over the ui.  
It could made possible to delete groups, that are not needed anymore, over the ui, and block the deleting with a message, when there have to be made some changes in zammad, befor being able to delete the group.
