Can't Receive Inbound E-mails

I’m trying to get Zammad set up right now using an Office 365 e-mail address, but when I’m entering the imap information it just shows the testing screen like it’s loading and never completes. Outbound e-mails are working though.


  • Used Zammad version: 3.3.x
  • Used Zammad installation source: package
  • Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04 Server
  • Browser + version: Google Chrome 80.0.3987.149 on MacOS 10.15.3

Expected behavior:

  • IMAP/POP3 Account confirms and I am able to receive e-mails or new tickets

Actual behavior:

  • Loading/Testing screen with “Verifying send and receiving” stays on the screen and doesn’t go away until you click somewhere off of it.
  • E-mails can’t be received by Zammad to create tickets.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Go to Settings > Channels > E-mail
  • Under accounts create new account
  • I’m using an Office 365 / Exchange Online e-mail account.
  • Enter basic account information
  • Enter IMAP Information
  • Enter SMTP Configuration
  • Email account test pop up comes up and doesn’t go away

Not sure and thus just a guess: Did you by any chance tell Zammad to fetch mails from a subfolder?
If so, ensure that Zammads test mails (which it’s sending to this mailbox) reaches a) the mailbox and b) the folder you’re fetching from.

Otherwise you can’t add the account as Zammad expects the configuration not to b e working.
