- What is your original issue/pain point you want to solve?
The Time Accounting Reports screen (Admin > Time Accounting Reports) only lets you select a single Year and Month, and the CSV downloads it offers (Activity, Ticket, Customer, Organization) always cover just that one month. There is no built-in way to pull a report that spans more than one month — a full year, a quarter, or any other custom period — in one export.
- Which are one or two concrete situations where this problem hurts the most?
The clearest case is year-end billing and invoicing: when time tracking is the basis for an annual invoice or a yearly contract reconciliation with a client, there’s no way to get one consolidated report for that client covering the whole year — only twelve separate monthly ones.
In practice this means the report has to be built by hand every year: downloading all twelve monthly CSVs one by one and merging them yourself (e.g. in Excel) just to get a yearly total. That manual stitching is repetitive, easy to get wrong (missed month, mismatched columns), and has to be redone from scratch for every client, every year.
- Why is it not solvable with the Zammad standard?
The report selector only offers Year + Month as filter criteria, and every CSV export (Activity, Ticket, Customer, Organization) is scoped to whatever single month is currently selected. There is no “whole year” option, no multi-month selection, and no custom date-range picker anywhere in the time accounting reporting UI or its export function — so any period longer than one calendar month has to be assembled manually outside of Zammad.
- What is your expectation/what do you want to achieve?
Let the report period be defined as a free date range (from – to) instead of being locked to a single Year + Month. The same four CSV export categories that exist today (Activity, Ticket, Customer, Organization) would then cover whatever range is selected — a full year, a quarter, a custom billing period, etc. — in one download, removing the need to download and manually merge individual monthly files.
