# Add a "Clear All Notifications" button

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you for the great work on Zammad.
I would like to suggest a small usability improvement for the notification center.
Currently, the **“Mark all as read”** action is very useful, but it only changes the notification status to _read_ . All notifications remain in the list, so if you’ve accumulated hundreds of them over time (400–500 in my case), the only way to clean up the notification center is to click the **X** on each notification individually, which can take a very long time.
It would be great to have two separate actions:
- **Mark all as read** – Keep the current behavior.
- **Clear all notifications** – Remove all notifications from the list, including those already marked as read.
This would make it much easier to keep the notification center clean without affecting the existing workflow.
Would anyone else find this useful?

For me it personally would help a lot tk get rid of read notifications only. I sometimes have 50 notifications with like 7 unread in between all the way.

When you’ve marked the notifications as read a background process cleans
up these entries in your Phoenix drop down menu. It happens in between 10 minutes and 2 hours.
